Wheelthrown in iron rich stoneware and fired in an anagama kiln for 55 hours.

In an anagama kiln the pots go into the firing without any glazes. All the different colours, textures, dribbles are the result of melted wood ash and the flames passing through the kiln and the pots for a prolonged, high (1300 degrees Celsius +) firing.

This jar was thrown on the wheel and its sides slightly pressed to create very soft corners. During the firing another potter's porcelain vase stuck to this jar and when we separated them, a 5p sized bit of porcelain remained.

This is refelected in the lower price.

It also has the sought-after green melted ash dribble (bidiro) running to the bottom of the pot near my maker's mark.

Measures: H 13cm, diam. 8.5cm at its widest.
